As of 2 months ago I had not seen a SINGLE episode of ‘Jersey Shore’. Sure I knew of ‘Snookie’ and ‘The Situation’ but really couldn’t give two shits about them. After almost a year of non stop publicity I caved in and thought to myself I have to see what this show is all about. And as an italian boy myself, who’s entire family lives in NYC and Jersey I figured this would be hilarious. 

I caught up with the show and was amused in a disgusted way, as if it were a ‘fart joke’. Mostly laughing at what a tragic mess these people were. I did not identify with anyone on that show, or condone their sick behavior. In fact I was a little disturbed that this is what kids are watching and thinking is ‘okay’ to emulate.

During this new season I took notice and strongly disliked the fact the house made one of the characters (Angelina) their scapegoat. No matter what happened this poor girl would always get blamed for it. They (the house) would sit there and analyze everything Angelina would do, and criticize her for it even if they have done the same thing or far worse. They overlooked their own shallowness and disgusting behavior, and would push Angelina until she was down and then would keep kicking her. That entire house was nothing but horrible bullies to her. And that behavior is UNACCEPTABLE.

They brainwashed their audience to take part in the “Anti-Angelina” craze as well. Tonight on Twitter I saw so many of my supporters and friends tweeting horrible things about Angelina. It made me feel ill, this is a person no matter how much you ‘dislike’ her or don’t agree with her. When people gang up on 1 person and constantly beat them down, thats what leads to suicides.

Tonight Jersey Shore reminded me of ‘society’.Take any minority/community that you identify with (Recently the most bashed ‘minority/community’ is the gay community, and for me I Identify with it being gay myself.)

So in this case Angelina is ‘the gay community’ and the rest of the house is ‘society’. The house(society) constantly picks on, and humiliates and degrades Angelina(gay community) for their own amusement, and to feel in control and superior. They never allow Angelina to have a voice or have freedom without being judged for it. They forget the fact that she is human and no different than them and treat her as if she were an animal. They created an image of Angelina that caused more and more people outside of the house to join in and hate her. At one point Mike ‘the situation’ took a bloody tampon from the over flowed trash can and put it underneath Angelina’s pillow. Then proceeded to embarrass her and humiliate her while she with her friend and a guy she liked.

I was so offended and upset by tonights episode of Jersey Shore that I will no longer watch the show or ever support anything associated with those cast members. 

Tonight’s episode showcased hatred and bullying. This is what we should be fighting against, not honoring. How can we move forward and be seen as equals when you judge and gang up on and hate 1 person? How can we move forward and stop the hate when we celebrate and condone behavior like this? Those cast members should feel ashamed. 

I never usually give my two cents on other celebrities or public figures. I dont usually judge people publicly I like to allow everyone to form their own opinions. But tonight really upset me, and I witnessed 1 girl receive an unnecessary amount of hatred and humiliation. Please don’t every gang up on somebody or degrade them no matter how much you don’t like them. If you truly dislike someone, ignore them. Don’t add to the pollution of ignorance this world is suffocating in. I strongly believe we can help lower the amount of hatred and bullying if we stand up and show the world it’s NOT okay.
